The weather outside it frightful, however if you have a hot tub and have the pleasure of soaking in it whilst the weather is frightful, it could turn the frightful into delightful! The skies are dark, the snow falling, the steam rising from the warm glow of your hot tub. It is indeed magical.
With all that's gone on throughout 2020, a peaceful soak in a hot tub with the bubbles easing away your aches and pains makes your hot tub a pleasure all year around.
In order to get the most out of your hot tub this winter, follow these basic steps:
Increase the Temperature
Due to the decrease in temperature outside, ensure the temperature is set comfortably. Remember as it's cold outside, the temperature will take a little longer to kick in, so planning ahead and checking the temperature earlier would save you some time.
Change the Water
Pre-planning your water change would help enormously. Changing water in the depths of a cold winter is fine as long as you know the water won't freeze as it's pumped out! Changing your water just before it starts to get cold will save a few water changes throughout winter.
Check Your Water Levels
If you haven't used your hot tub in some time, check your water levels. If they drop to a low level, the water could freeze (if you haven't shut down your hot tub) and in effect damage your pump(s).
Keep the Water and Filters Clean
All year round this should be in effect, however maintain your hot tubs water hygiene even in winter to maximise the quality of your soak and longevity of your hot tub. Check out Luso Spas list of products to help keep your hot tub in tip top condition: https://www.lusospas.co.uk/spaaccessories
Hot Tub Covers
Keeping your hot tub covered, it ensures the heat is maintained. Ensure your hot tub cover is in good condition. If not repair or replace it. If you don't your energy bills would be susceptible to increased costs.
ENJOY!
Most of all sit back, relax and enjoy! Christmas and the winter months are a fabulous time to get lots out of your hot tub. A Christmas or New Years Day soak with family or friends can alleviate not only your physical aches and pains but mentally can aid in the recovering from a busy time of year.
